Architectural fragment in Tralee

One cloister pillar from the medieval Dominican friary in Tralee stands embedded in a church garden rockery, its chamfered and moulded edges still sharp enough to define the shape of a lost walkway. Four such pillars remain scattered across the garden, reduced to decorative stones but still carrying the weight of a building that no longer exists. The pillar does not explain itself, yet it refuses to disappear completely because someone chose to keep it visible instead of burying it beneath soil and forgetfulness.
