What is recorded here

Castlelishen holds a spiral-carved stone inside a gate pier, two hundred metres from its parent tower. The marker may have watched people pass for centuries before becoming a gate support. That change from identity to function is typical of Irish country estates, where useful parts were reused instead of discarded.

This stone, with a spiral motif carved in relief, is set into a gate pier c. 200m to SW of tower house (CO006-020001-) and probably originally came from it.
