What is recorded here
Kilkea Demesne holds a broken chamber pot, not a grand hall. Lord Walter gathered fragments from elsewhere and set them inside a new arcade, making a museum of losses instead of a house for life. The pot keeps its shape while losing its function, reminding visitors that memory often works in reverse. What is missing becomes the point.
Fragment of 17th century figure sculpture; one of several monuments gathered together by Lord Walter FitzGerald in a modern arcaded area, south-west of the castle (KD037-017002-). (Bradley et al. 1986 vol. 3, 280)
