What is recorded here
Castledermot church holds a rough rectangular granite vessel with a small sloping basin but no drainage hole. It sits on a modern pedestal at the west end, preserving a shape that may have washed hands or reflected light in a sacred room. The absence of a drain suggests water was wiped away rather than poured out, turning a simple act into a quiet ritual.
