Archibald Acheson, 2nd Earl of Gosford

Archibald Acheson, 2nd Earl of Gosford, was born in Markethill, County Armagh, Ireland on 1 August 1776. He later became Governor General of British North America and commissioned the building of Gosford Castle, though the house remained unfinished until after his death in 1849.
