Aras Mhuire

Terraced three-bay three-storey house, built c.1900, formerly also in use as shop. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystacks, timber clad rendered eaves course and cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered walls with incised facia panel between first and second floors. Timber cladding to ground floor with moulded render cornice above. Square-headed window openings with render sills throughout, having one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows. Timber bipartite one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows to ground floor. Square-headed door opening with glazed timber door and overlight. Fronting directly onto street.

While the appearance of this building appears to be of the early twentieth century, its façade may simply have been renovated during that time period, thus disguising the building's age. The retention of timber sash windows and it render detailing adds historic character to both building and streetscape.
