What is recorded here
Ballymullan holds a ghost enclosure, visible only when drought or ploughing reveals its shape. The ground remembers a boundary no longer standing, perhaps a rath built by hands that never wrote their name. What is certain is the mark itself: a circle or oval pressed into County Down soil, waiting for rain to erase it again.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as AP Cropmark- Possible enclosure (rath?). Recorded period: UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
