The snout
An Socach rises to approximately 660 metres and is part of the rugged Cuillin mountain range on the Isle of Skye. Composed primarily of basalt and gabbro, it is known for its dramatic, rocky profile and is a notable feature within the dramatic landscape of the "The Snout," a narrow, finger-like extension of the Cuillin. It matters as a key landmark for hikers and climbers exploring the geologically significant and visually striking terrain of Skye.
