Half a century before the internet, a young man from Holywood mapped the hidden architecture of flies and saw-toothed insects, giving humanity names for creatures it could barely see. He carried those names across seas to Lucca, where he helped found an entomological society with men who spoke Italian, proving that wonder does not respect borders. The Haliday house stood near the coast, wealthy enough to afford curiosity, related to Luccan families, and busy enough with cloth and shipping to keep its sons honest. Alexander took the honesty and turned it into vision, describing entire orders of nature that other men dismissed as noise.
