Alan Kelly Senior, the Dubliner who became Preston's record-breaking goalkeeper, still has the Town End named for him. He made 513 appearances between 1961 and 1973, played in the 1964 FA Cup Final, and later coached Jordan Pickford at Everton. A man from County Dublin went north, kept goals for Preston, and helped shape one of modern football's great keepers.
