Aisling Daly

Aisling Daly was born in Drimnagh, County Dublin, on 24 December 1987, and later became the first Irish woman to earn a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. She fought professionally from 2007 to 2015, winning sixteen of her twenty-two bouts before retiring in January 2017 after a brain scan revealed an abnormality. Her story belongs to Dublin because she carried a small city’s pride into cages across Europe and the world, then returned home with scars and honour.
