AIRFIELD: MILLISLE in Drumawhy; Killaghy

AIRFIELD: MILLISLE

What is recorded here

Millisle airfield occupies a narrow strip of County Down where modern engines roared above ancient fields. Its concrete scars and buried markers still trace the violent speed of human ambition. The land remembers both the thunder of wings and the sudden silence after takeoff.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as AIRFIELD: MILLISLE. Recorded period: MODERN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
