Aghaward

On a gentle E-facing slope. Reputedly built in 1630 (Lewis, 1837, vol. 2, 186), a James Lawder, son of William Lawder of Bunny Beg, Mohill, Co. Leitrim, married Deboragh Doherty of Kilmore and their son was born in 1709. The house may have been built then, and it is still occupied as a modernised farmhouse. Rectangular four-bay two storey structure with a narrow round-headed doorway and narrow side-lights. (Hanly 1994, 24) Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
