Africain

Africain was a French paddle steamer lost in 1858 after striking rocks near Llandudno, Wales, during a storm; the vessel sank quickly, resulting in the deaths of 28 of the 31 people on board. The wreck is historically significant as one of the deadliest maritime disasters on the North Wales coast during the 19th century.
