A' Chlaisir

Bay

What is recorded here

A' Chlaisir is shown as a bay on the public map of Na h-Eileanan Siar. The saved point is the map point or the centre of its mapped shape.
A’ Chlaisir is a sea cliff or coastal rock feature located within the Outer Hebrides, likely composed of Lewisian gneiss, one of the oldest rock formations in the UK, dating back over 2.7 billion years. These metamorphic rocks formed deep within the Earth's crust through intense heat and pressure, and were later exposed by erosion, making the area geologically significant as part of the ancient Precambrian basement complex of Scotland.
