Yarnbury Castle is a vast Iron Age hillfort in Wiltshire where three heavy ramparts still guard about one hundred and thirty circular homes. People lived there from three hundred BC through Roman times, building new walls around older ones and leaving coins, pots, and bones behind. The earthworks remain sharp enough to show how large the settlement was, even though a driveway has eaten part of the outer ditch.
