The Hanseat was a 17th-century Hanseatic merchant vessel that ran aground on Warkworth Beach in 1632 during a storm. It was carrying cargo of timber and grain; no lives were lost, and the wreck is significant as a rare example of a Hanseatic shipwreck in the North East of England.
