What is recorded here
Wreck of the Chrysopolis is shown and named in a reusable Geograph picture. The saved point is the picture's recorded map point.
The *Chrysopolis* was a British steamship that sank in 1874 off the coast of Kent after colliding with the *Mumbles*. It was lost with all 13 crew members, and the wreck yielded little in terms of salvageable cargo. The vessel is notable as an early example of maritime casualties in the expanding 19th-century shipping trade.
The picture record does not grant public access. Use signed public paths and do not enter private land without permission.
