Winterscleugh rises to approximately 460 metres and is part of the Lake District National Park, situated within the historic county of Westmorland. Its geology consists mainly of Ordovician slate, typical of the region's mountainous terrain. The hill is locally significant as a minor but distinctive peak within a landscape renowned for its natural beauty and geological interest.
