What is recorded here

Winshill Water Tower rose in 1907 because Harry Mills Barrow defeated the South Staffordshire Waterworks Company in the High Court over weak tap pressure. The brick column stands on Waterloo Clump, holds a radio function today, and still cuts the Burton skyline like a castle finger pointing at the town its residents forced into shape.
A named place photographed at this map point in East Staffordshire.
