WINDMILL (c.f. IHR 2647 for details) in Corporation North

WINDMILL (c.f. IHR 2647 for details)

What is recorded here

One eighth-century windmill stood in Corporation North, its sails drinking the Atlantic breeze to grind grain for hundreds of miles around. It fell silent before the twentieth century, yet its shadow still falls across the town at dusk. The mill was not a toy or a trade; it was a living engine of human labour, turning air into bread.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as WINDMILL (c.f. IHR 2647 for details). Recorded period: C18TH. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
