This bronze commemorative plaque records: In front of this stone stood the house built in 1879 for William Tallis. The first works foreman after Richard and George Cadbury transferred the business to Bournville. The stone was taken from the house on it's demolition in 1967 Recorded plaque organisation: Bournville Village Trust.
William Tallis served as the first works foreman at Bournville after the Cadbury brothers relocated their business there, playing a significant role in the early operations of what became a renowned chocolate manufacturing site.
