Rev William Scoresby was a prominent Arctic explorer, scientist, and clergyman who significantly contributed to the understanding of the Arctic through his expeditions and writings, notably "The Arctic Regions." He also made substantial social contributions as the vicar of Bradford, where he established the first Church Day Schools and worked as an advocate for the poor.
