What is recorded here

Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, gave birth to William Plunket on 1 July 1764, the son of a Presbyterian minister who would become Ireland's most ruthless prosecutor. He mocked Robert Emmet as a deluded leader of bricklayers and hostlers, turning a treason trial into a public humiliation that sealed Emmet's fate. Plunket rose from that bloody stage to become Lord Chancellor of Ireland, proving that cruelty and competence often wear the same coat.
