William III and Royal Hotel, Runcorn blue plaque

This blue commemorative plaque records: The Royal Hotel. Late 18th Century Grade II listed building. Until at least 1817, it was known as The White Hart Inn. According to tradition, Prince William of Orange once stayed here, after which it became known as The Royal Hotel. Recorded plaque organisation: Runcorn Heritage.

King William III of England, also known as William of Orange, was a key figure in British and European history, reigning from 1689 until his death in 1702. He is remembered for his role in the Glorious Revolution and for strengthening Protestant rule in England.
