Vernon Lushington (1832-1912) Lawyer, Positivist and friend of the Pre-Raphaelites. His daughter Kitty was Virginia Woolf's "Mrs Dalloway". Captain Sir William Hoste (1780-1828) was known as "the young Nelson" for his leadership in the Royal Navy during the Napoleonic Wars. Vernon Lushington (1832-1912), a lawyer and Positivist, was a friend of the Pre-Raphaelites, and his daughter Kitty inspired Virginia Woolf's character "Mrs Dalloway."
