This bronze commemorative plaque records: Mansfield Museum William Edward Baily, a local collector and natural historian offered his collection to the town together with a metal building in which to house it. William Edward Baily was a local collector and natural historian who significantly contributed to Mansfield's cultural heritage by donating his extensive collection and a building to house it, laying the foundation for the current Mansfield Museum.
