This blue commemorative plaque records: In May 1645 Parliamentary troops under Sir William Brereton (1604 - 1661) of Handforth Hall also mustered at Prince Rupert’s ‘Barloe More' rendezvous. Recorded plaque organisation: Manchester City Council.
Sir William Brereton was a Parliamentarian military leader during the English Civil War, notable for his role in the conflict against Royalist forces and his involvement in significant battles including those where he mustered troops at strategic locations like Prince Rupert’s 'Barloe More'.
