This green commemorative plaque records: The poet Wilfred Owen (1893-1918) lived and wrote here from March to June 1918 whilst based at the Ripon Army Camp.
Wilfred Owen was an English poet and soldier known for his powerful poetry about World War I; he died in combat one week before the war ended, becoming a poignant symbol of the conflict's human cost.
