Whetstone is a glacial erratic, likely composed of granite or similar hard rock, deposited during the last Ice Age (approximately 10,000 to 20,000 years ago). Its triangular shape and surrounding moat suggest it was plucked and transported by ice and later isolated as the glacier retreated, making it a notable example of glacial geomorphology.
