West Whitecastle is a prehistoric fort in South Lanarkshire, Scotland, later marked by medieval and post-medieval cultivation remains. Centuries of ploughing and tree planting have blurred its earthworks, yet a carved stone from the late 13th or early 14th century still lies near West Whitecastle Farm. The land may have supported soldiers, farmers, or both across the ages, changing shape as human needs shifted.
