What is recorded here

West Whitecastle Farm holds a carved stone from the late 13th or early 14th century, buried beside a prehistoric hillfort that ploughing and trees have worn smooth. The farm has likely fed Libberton for centuries, its fields turning over old walls and forgotten lives. What the stone marked then is lost, but it still stands as a reminder that the land remembers even when people stop looking.
