Marianne Spivey and I walked into Ballyvennaght without pretending to understand the dead. The wedge tomb stood beside the living road, ancient and unafraid of being forgotten. We touched nothing, measured nothing and sat with the place until it stopped feeling like a fact.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as WEDGE TOMB. Recorded period: NEO/B.A.; PREHISTORIC. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

Wedge tomb; dates to the Neolithic or Bronze Age period. Its scheduling for protection indicates recognition of its archaeological and historical importance.
