Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Watlee as Square Cairn (iron Age)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Square cairn, likely Iron Age in date. Its precise function is uncertain, but such cairns often served as funerary or ceremonial monuments in Scottish prehistory.
