This blue commemorative plaque records: Watersheddings Rugby Ground. On the site of the housing development to the east of this park was the famous Watersheddings rugby ground, which served the Oldham club from its opening on the 28th September 1889, until the last first team match on the 19th January 1997 Recorded plaque organisation: Oldham Council.
Watersheddings was a significant rugby ground in Oldham, serving as the home of the Oldham Rugby Football Club for over a century from 1889 to 1997. It played a crucial role in nurturing local talent and hosting numerous memorable matches that contributed to the club's rich history.
