Freestanding cast-iron water hydrant, installed c.1880, with fluted shaft and cap, banded base and plain moulded spout set into a concrete base.

This water hydrant exhibits artistic detailing in its design, with a finely cast banded shaft and cap. It is an interesting and notable feature on the streetscape and offers a reminder of a time when water was drawn from a communal source.
