What is recorded here

Cast-iron fountain, built into rubble limestone wall, dated 1871, comprising flat plate with curvilinear top, moulded edge, and having date, lion's head mask and Leslie insignia in relief. Now disused and handle missing. Cut limestone drain to base, with cut limestone kerbing. Located on roadside.
The cast-iron fountain is one of a group of similar decorative examples in Glaslough and makes an interesting contribution to the streetscape. Its casting and details are of good quality.
