According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) there was ‘a grinding mill’ in ‘Cordangen ffarringowen and Knockrawly', which in 1640 was under the proprietorship of ‘William oge Ryan of Cordangen Esqr. Irish Papist’ (Simington 1934, vol.2, 28). This watermill is unlocated within the townland of Cordangan.
