This blue commemorative plaque records: These shops and offices were erected in 1927 by Warner Gothard, Barnsley photographer 1865-1940 pioneer of the montage postcard. He donated Seckar Wood for the benefit of the people of Barnsley and Wakefield Recorded plaque organisation: Barnsley Civic Trust.
Warner Gothard was a pioneering Barnsley photographer known for his innovative use of montage in postcards, active from 1865 to 1940; he also donated Seckar Wood to benefit the public.
