Walter Parker blue plaque

This blue commemorative plaque records: Lance Corporal Walter Parker VC 1881-1936. Walter Parker was born near here at 5 Agnes Street. During the Gallipoli Campaign he was awarded the Victoria Cross. In charge of a party of stretcher bearers he braved heavy machine-gun fire, and despite being seriously injured, helped to save his wounded comrades.
