Wall monument in Clonroad Beg

Situated on the W wall of the S transept of Ennis Friary (CL033-082001-) in an area which once had a much higher floor level. A wall monument at this location commemorated the Gore family. It disintegrated over time and with the family’s permission (as remains were visible) it was removed and the remains were reinterred. A 19th-century plaque bearing the Gore name remains at the original location and the outline of the former wall monument can be seen.
