Variag: Lendalfoot, Firth of Clyde

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Variag: Lendalfoot, Firth of Clyde as Cruiser (20th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The *Variag* was a Russian cruiser, part of the *Rurik*-class, which was scuttled in 1919 in the Firth of Clyde after being abandoned by the White Russian forces during the Russian Civil War. It was later broken up, and its wreck is now a protected historic site, significant as a remnant of post-World War I naval history and the Russian emigration crisis.
