URN BURIAL in Killeague

URN BURIAL

What is recorded here

Killeague held an urn burial during the Bronze Age, when people were learning to shape heat and memory into visible form. The vessel may have carried bones, ash or something a family believed worth keeping beside the living. Its burial turned an ordinary field into a place where absence could still be addressed.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as URN BURIAL. Recorded period: BRONZE AGE; PREHISTORIC. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
Bronze Age urn burial; part of a widespread prehistoric funerary tradition in Britain and Ireland. Such burials are significant for understanding early ceremonial practices and social structures.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
