What is recorded here

Upper Luggy, Castle is a medieval motte and bailey in Powys, Wales. Its earthen mound and surrounding ditch still mark the ground where armed people once lived, watched the land and kept others at a distance. The shape is simple, but the life inside it was not. A kitchen fire, a sleeping child, a guard weary at dawn and a door barred against rain would have filled the same space now reserved for ghosts.
The National Monuments Record of Wales records Upper Luggy, Castle as Motte and Bailey from the Medieval period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
