Upper Cove is a sea cliff located in County Down, formed primarily of basalt rock from the Palaeogene period, around 60 to 55 million years old. These cliffs were shaped by ancient volcanic activity and subsequent coastal erosion, and are part of the broader basalt formations associated with the Antrim Plateau.
