Ulabhal rises to approximately 300 metres and is part of the rugged landscape of the Outer Hebrides. Its prominence is modest, but it contributes to the geological character of the region, which is largely composed of ancient Lewisian gneiss. As a named feature on official maps, it helps define the local topography and aids in navigation and cultural identification for island communities.
