U-27: North Sea

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records U-27: North Sea as Submarine (20th Century)-(1939). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

U-27 was a German U-boat lost in the North Sea in 1915 during World War I after being depth-charged and sunk by the British submarine HMS E9. All 38 crew members were killed, and the wreck remains a significant historical and archaeological site.
