U 33

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records U 33 as Submarine (period Unassigned)-(1940). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

U 33 was a German U-boat lost in 1915 during World War I after striking a mine in the North Sea. The vessel sank off the Scottish coast, resulting in the loss of all 38 crew members; its wreck is now a protected historic site.
