U-482: North Channel

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records U-482: North Channel as Submarine (20th Century)-(1945). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

U-482 was a German U-boat sunk in 1945 during the final months of World War II. It was lost in the North Channel, likely as a result of Allied anti-submarine action, with no survivors recorded; its wreck remains an important wartime maritime archaeological site.
