What is recorded here

Two stones still stand in Owenbeg, County Derry, perhaps the last visible bones of a megalthic tomb buried beneath grass and time. They mark a prehistoric place where people may have set rock upon rock to hold death, memory or ceremony before written history existed. Whatever vanished around them, the pair remain scheduled and watchful, waiting for rain, foottraffic or certainty.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as TWO STANDING STONES; possibly remains of MEGALITHIC TOMB. Recorded period: PREHISTORIC; UNCERTAIN. Recorded protection: Scheduled.
